Because splices are significantly stronger than knots, offering 30%-50% more strength. Their splices have been tested to maintain over 90% of the rope’s strength, a feat that’s simply not possible with knotted loops.
Not only do spliced eyes boost strength, but they also reduce weight and bulk by eliminating large, cumbersome knots. For practical use, Tethrd loves girth hitching this rope to a lineman loop on the side of a saddle for ease and reliability.
